Urban Counties in the South and Southwest

Published in SEDL Letter Volume X, Number 2, December 1997, New Policies for Southwestern Schools

Schools and school districts are eligible for different E-rate discounts based on whether their location is in an "urban" or a "rural" area as specified by the federal Office of Management and Budget's list of Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs). If the county or parish where your school or district is located is not listed below, you are entitled to seek the higher discounts offered to rural schools and districts. In other words, every Arkansas county not listed here is considered a rural county and eligible to receive the higher discounts available to rural schools. This list was drawn from data posted on the Internet by the US Census Bureau and is current as of June 1997. - Mimi Mayer
