ACTIVITY: A Spider's Breakfast
Objectives
Students recognize what spiders eat.
Materials
Crayons or markers
Cut-out pictures of insects and other animals, and food substances such as
bread and candy, glued on cards
Procedures
Students classify pictures into "things spiders eat" and "things spiders do
not eat."
Discussion
- Which items did you mark that spiders will not eat? Why did you mark
those?
- When you observed the spiders in the vivarium, what did you see them
eat? Did you try bread? Something else?
