Southwest Consortium for the Improvement of Mathematics and Science Teaching
1995–2000
The Program for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning was a program funded under SEDL's 1995-2000 Regional Educational Laboratory contract. PITL sought to provide models, materials and assistance to support educators' efforts to create a meaningful, challenging education for all students. The program's three divisions addressed the needs of educators.
Promoting Instructional Coherence - This project developed a collection of tools to assist educators in developing a more coherent practice and provided training in their use. | |
Reading Coherence Initiative - This project was a K-2 reading initiative that created research-based resources designed to help teachers develop a more student-centered approach to reading instruction. | |
Eisenhower Southwest Consortium for the Improvement of Mathematics and Science Teaching - This project provided resources, training and other assistance to educational systems and teachers to improve mathematics and science instruction. |
