Previous Work Updates

2012

April

In April, SECC staff continued working with Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) school improvement personnel on refining Indistar indicators to support the state’s School Improvement Grant process. SECC engaged GaDOE staff in reviewing and discussing the quality of the indicators, to ensure that they are specific, concise, and communicate the essence of the improvement task to be accomplished.

March

In March, SECC staff, in collaboration with Center on Innovation and Improvement personnel, provided an introductory overview of the Indistar process and tool for Georgia Department of Education staff and principals of Georgia schools that received a School Improvement Grant.

February

In February, SECC staff worked with a core team of Georgia Department of Education school improvement personnel to modify and create indicators of school improvement for inclusion in Indistar, an online tool developed by the Center on Innovation and Improvement. The tool will assist teams from schools and districts in charting their course of improvement and managing research-based processes linked to school improvement.

January

Work with the Georgia Department of Education on this project is scheduled to begin in February.
