Mississippi Accreditation Standards Revision

This project will be an extension of the Year 2 Accreditation work. SECC staff will continue to work with MDE's Office of Accreditation to finalize the review of the state process standards, providing content expertise throughout the process.

July

SECC continues to support and facilitate the processes in which the SEA’s non-public schools’ and state board-governed schools’ task forces meet and work to revise the accreditation standards for such groups of schools. SECC staff assisted with agenda and activity development for the non-public schools’ task force meeting, which was held July 29.

SECC continues to support and facilitate the processes in which the SEA’s non-public schools and state board governed schools’ task forces meet and work to revise the accreditation standards for such groups of schools.

SECC continues to support the SEA in preparing for and facilitating non-public and state board-governed schools’ task force meetings in which members and staff meet to revise the accreditation standards for such groups of schools.

SECC continues to support the processes in which non-public and state board-governed schools’ task forces work to revise the accreditation standards for such groups of schools.


November

SECC facilitated both the nonpublic and state board-governed schools first task force meetings, respectively on November 12 and 19. The task forces began to review and revise the accreditation standards for each group of schools in a fashion very similar to the process used with the review and revisions of the public school accreditation standards done in Years 1 and 2.


October

SECC met with the MDE to plan for both upcoming nonpublic and state board-governed schools task force meetings. The following were accomplished in the meeting: - developed agendas - discussed process to be followed at meetings - assigned standards to task force groups - reviewed and refined memo to participants - completed first draft of nonpublic crosswalk - identified items for Accreditation leadership review The next working session is scheduled November 3 to finalize preparations for the November 12 and 19 task force meetings.


September

SECC and the MDE met to plan the next phase of accreditation work that will involve refining accreditation processes for public, non-public and state-board governed schools.
