Annotation:
This article describes the challenges and progress of two middle schools implementing EpsteinÕs model. Interviews were conducted with educators and parents to gather information for each of Epstein's six types of parent involvement activity. The information about how daily issues and obstacles were approached offers insight for those seeking to improve parent involvement at their own sites. Comparing two schools shows the variety of opportunities for the model to be successful.
