Past Work

SEDL was among the first to develop training to help teachers integrate technology with learner-centered instruction. Our Active Learning with Technology portfolio was designed to provide educators with examples of effective uses of technology in classroom instruction. It has been used by educators around the globe, from professors at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, to teachers in Nigeria.

From October 2000 to September 2005, SEDL operated the SouthCentral Regional Technology in Education Consortium (SCRTEC), one of 10 consortia funded by the U.S. Department of Education charged with helping public education systems use technology for the improvement of teaching and learning. SCRTEC focused on delivering research-based professional development and disseminating electronic tools to educators in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
