Current Work

Southeast Comprehensive Center: SEDL’s Southeast Comprehensive Center works with the state departments of education of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina to build their capacity to implement the No Child Left Behind Act and to support high-needs schools in improvement efforts. Our work with the individual states varies depending on the needs of each state. For example, in Mississippi, we have helped the Mississippi Department of Education revise professional development standards and its professional development monitoring instrument.

Texas Comprehensive Center: SEDL’s Texas Comprehensive Center works with Texas Education Agency staff to build their capacity to implement the No Child Left Behind Act and to support high-needs schools in improvement efforts. Our work includes training regional service center staff to help principals’ meet with teachers as a faculty and on one-on-one for coaching sessions where they analyze data and use the results for improving student outcomes.
