SEDL's work is guided by a 20-member board of directors. There are four representatives from Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Ms. Price-Picard's experience include working at Child Guidance Clinic at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the Professional Counseling Associates in Little Rock, as well as other agencies. She had a private psychotherapy practice until 2005 when she retired. During her professional career, she not only worked as a clinician but also as manager and staff supervisor of two mental health center offices. Her area of expertise is Family Systems theory which includes an understanding of church and organizational systems. She volunteers with the Red Cross at Pentagon, as well as at Christ Church Book Store and the Clinton Presidential Library. She also serves on the vestry at Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock.
Ms. Price-Picard holds a master of science in social work from the University of Tennessee and a BS in sociology-social work from Texas Women's University.
