What We Do

SEDL bridges the gap between educational research and practice through high-quality professional development, research and evaluation, and products and services—all designed to improve teaching and learning. We help schools and districts find research-based solutions to the challenges they face in the classroom.

We work with a diverse range of partners and clients. Our work currently includes:

Professional Development
SEDL's professional development takes many forms: face-to-face, Web-based and satellite-based video conferencing, and online applications. Our professional development is rooted in research and designed with practical use in mind.

Products & Services
For 40 years, SEDL has created products and consulting services designed to strengthen instruction and help students learn—no matter what their learning needs. SEDL's products have been developed from extensive research, affiliations with leading scholars, and years of practical application.

Research & Evaluation
Educators are looking for programs and materials based on rigorous research instead of relying on anecdotal evidence. SEDL has a 40-year history of conducting research and evaluation and translating the findings into strategies and tools that educators can use in a variety of situations.
